Jacopo – Poetic, Passionate, and Full of Color: Our New Piano Teacher

We are thrilled to welcome Jacopo to our teaching team at Musik Chamber Studio Frankfurt!

Described by Piano News as “poetic and full of temperament” and praised by Dame Imogen Cooper as “fantastic, beautifully controlled, full of wit and color”, Jacopo brings together technical brilliance and deep musical sensitivity.

He began playing piano at the age of four and won his first international competition at five. At six, he gave his first recital at Palazzo Barberini in Rome, and at eleven, he made his orchestral debut performing Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto at the Great Shostakovich Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.

Jacopo studied at the University of Music in Hanover with Prof. Bernd Goetzke and currently continues his studies with Prof. Martínez Mehner at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne.

As a semifinalist of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition, he has performed in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls – including Alte Oper Frankfurt, Salle Cortot in Paris, Flagey in Brussels, the Atheneum in Bucharest, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Carnegie Hall in New York, and Severance Hall in Cleveland.

A passionate chamber musician, Jacopo regularly performs in duo and trio formations. With his ensemble, the Elster Trio, he received the Rheingau Music Festival Award and the Silver Medal at the Schumann Competition in Frankfurt.

At Musik Chamber Studio Frankfurt, Jacopo shares his international artistry and profound love for music with his students – inspiring them to grow, express themselves, and discover the beauty of piano playing.

He teaches piano lessons for children, teenagers, and adults, tailored to each student’s individual goals and personality.

Catalina – Passion, Inspiration, and International Experience at the Piano

We are delighted to introduce Catalina as one of our new piano teachers at Musik Chamber Studio Frankfurt!

She is a talented pianist and chamber musician with a rich international career that began in Chile, where she received recognition in major national competitions from a young age.

Catalina completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León (Spain) under Miriam Gómez-Morán, and she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Chamber Music at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, supported by the Deutschlandstipendium and Live Music Now Frankfurt.

Her artistry has been recognized with awards from the Claudio Arrau Competition, Paderewski Competition (Spain), and Livorno Piano Competition (Italy), and she was a Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation scholar.

As both soloist and chamber musician with her ensemble Varua Dúo (saxophone and piano), Catalina has performed in concert halls across Chile, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and Colombia, in series such as El Arte del Piano, Sur Piano, and La Magia del Piano.

Beyond her concert career, Catalina is a dedicated and inspiring teacher. She has extensive experience teaching children and adults, both online and in person, and is passionate about bringing classical music closer to people of all ages. She also gives educational concerts and motivational talks for young students, encouraging them to discover the joy of music.

With warmth, sensitivity, and artistic depth, Catalina helps her students explore music in a personal and expressive way – making every lesson a journey of creativity and discovery.

María Cardiel

María Cardiel is a versatile violinist with a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music. She is a member of the renowned National Youth Orchestra of Spain and currently concertmaster of the Extremadura Youth Orchestra. As a chamber musician, she won first prize at the Don Juan de Borbón Interpretation Competition and has performed in major concert halls in Spain and abroad, including the Teatro Real Madrid, the Auditorio Nacional, the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, and the Konzerthaus Berlin.

María has played under renowned conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Heras Casado, and Andrés Salado and is a member of several youth orchestras. She studied at the Segovia Conservatory and with Sergei Teslja at the Katarina Gurska Center for Advanced Music Education in Madrid, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in solo performance. She regularly participates in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed professors and shares her valuable teaching experience with her students.
